"I would like to give my highest recommendation to Dr. Cussatti for my Gastric Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy weight loss surgery that I had in April 2008. He is a caring and patient doctor, who always takes the time to explain any questions that patients or family's might have. My husband was initially against the surgery, but he attended two meetings with me that were led by Dr. Cussatti at Good Samaritan Hospital. We both were very impressed with Dr. Cussatti at the meetings we attended. We asked many hard questions, and he answered all of them very openly and patiently. After the meetings, and further conversations with Dr. Cussatti, my husband was also convinced that this was the right path for me. The surgery went very well, and Dr. Cussatti was always available to help and answer any questions. I felt completely back to normal in 10 days. I had no problem after the surgery, and have lost a total of 73 pounds. My health has greatly improved after the surgery, and the amount of medications has been greatly reduced. I am off insulin, and my asthma has gotten much better. I would highly recommend Dr. Cussatti to anyone considering weight loss surgery, and I am very happy that he is my Doctor. "I feel that Dr. Cussatti saved my life. Before I had the surgery, I had diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I could hardly walk half a block before I had to rest. When my son played soccer, I felt the walk to the field was overwhelming. I had to stop several times, though even my mother-in-law was able to make the walk with ease. After the surgery, I had energy that I never had before. I no longer needed meds for diabetes, HBP, and was able to sleep without my C-PAP machine. Dr. Cussatti was supportive before, during and after surgery. His bedside manner is terrific and he treats you like a friend not just a patient.
